Eureka, broadway style

I'm so excited I can't stand it! I've been waiting for months, and months, and months, and months, well frankly, FOREVER, for new episodes of Eureka. (due to the writer's strike last year...)

Happy Day! New episodes are on the horizon. July 29th to be exact. I wonder when they'll have the show uploaded online? (I don't have a t.v.)

What is Eureka? A well-written comedic, upbeat, techy, and quirky sitcom that provides fun entertainment for geek and non-geek alike. In a day when there are very few shows that aren't based on crappy "reality", trying to sell sex, or push some boundary to see how far they can go without being fined by the FCC, Eureka stands out, in a good way.

For those of you who would like to catch up on the first two seasons, visit your local Netflix Queue for the easiest and most cost effective fix. For those of you who'd like to check out a few episodes to get back in the groove, go to the SciFi channel where you can watch the five episodes they're displaying at the moment.

Really short promo flick on the SciFi site, here.

Gardens, in the sky

Image credit: SOA Architects, via the NY Times

An interesting read from the NY Times about vertical farming. Here's to a greener us, and fresher produce. Although I wonder if I'd actually want to eat anything that actually grew in our smoggy polluted city... but that's a topic for another day.

NY Times article here.

What We Need, is pho

large bowl of beef pho, originally uploaded by roboppy.

Have you noticed the inordinate amount of sushi places popping up on the UWS, particularly between 84th and 77th street, ranging from Columbus Ave to Broadway? I mean how many sushi houses do we need?

What we really need is somewhere to get good Pho, so I don't have to trek all the way down to Chinatown or Chelsea.

So to all you restaurateurs out there, PHO. WE WANT PHO.

Preferably, on the Upper West Side.

IAQ: infrequently asked questions

What’s your favorite jazz tune?
Autumn Leaves, pretty . . . much . . . any . . . version . . . I . . . can . . . find. Oh, and I just found this version which I just love!

What groups do you like?
I’ve been listening to Phoenix recently, oh, and Duncan Sheik. Mmmmm good stuff. :)

What’s your favorite ice cream?
Edy’s Rocky Road. (not the slow churned kind)

Neither. Mass transit all the way. Or perhaps an Air Car, cause they sound cool! (That's, if, I leave the City.)
